NH-4004 Textile and Fabric coating concentrate - Nanovations
NH-4004 Textile and Fabric Nano Coating Concentrate
NH-4004 is a water and dirt repellent concentrate for the hydrophobic treatment of textile, fabric, natural fibre, and even cellulose fibre (wood). It can be diluted with a minimum of 4–5 parts tap water, with dilution rates up to 8–9 times depending on substrate absorption and composition.
NH-4004 creates a super-hydrophobic, water-based, solvent-free, invisible treatment. It is a self-assembling nano coating that creates a very high contact angle against water, producing an effective water and liquid repellent effect with an easy-to-clean surface.
1 litre of concentrate dilutes into a minimum of 6 litres of ready-to-use product, covering between 25–50 m² (250–520 sq. ft.) depending on substrate absorption. Consumption rate guideline: 100–200 ml/m².
NH-4004 is suitable for external fabric and textiles, cellulose fibre, and non-woven materials. It dries transparent with no visible change to the surface and preserves breathability. Treated surfaces are guarded against dirt, dust, and atmospheric pollution. On external surfaces, moss and algae formation is significantly reduced.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I dilute NH-4004 for fabric treatment?
Dilute NH-4004 with a minimum of 5 parts clean tap water (1:5 ratio). One litre of concentrate produces at least 6 litres of ready-to-use product. For more absorbent substrates, dilution up to 1:9 is possible — always test on a small area first.
- Will NH-4004 change the colour or feel of my fabric?
No. NH-4004 dries completely transparent and invisible. It does not alter the colour, texture, or appearance of the treated fabric. It also preserves the breathability of the substrate, so the material continues to allow vapour transmission.
- Is NH-4004 safe for use on car soft-tops and awnings?
Yes. NH-4004 is specifically suited for soft-tops, awnings, tents, and outdoor furniture fabrics. It is water-based, solvent-free, zero VOC, and PFAS-free — safe for both the user and the environment.
- How long does the water-repellent effect last on fabric?
The hydrophobic treatment is resistant to UV and temperature changes. Longevity depends on the substrate, exposure conditions, and washing frequency. For best results, reapply after heavy washing or when water no longer beads on the surface.
- Can NH-4004 be used on fabric that already has a water-repellent treatment?
No. NH-4004 is unsuitable for fabric or textile material that is already coated with a water-repellent product. The existing coating will prevent proper adhesion of NH-4004. Remove or strip any existing treatment before applying.
